Thus, the
instances of elevated reporting limits did not impact the cleanup confirmation.
7.0 WASTE DISPOSAL
Approximately 2,615 cy of soil were removed from the RAP excavations and stockpiled for
waste characterization. All soil excavated from the RAP excavations was sent to an off-site
landfill for disposal. Tables 11 through 15 present the soil stockpile results for TPH, VOCs,
PAHs, PCBs and metals, respectively.-
During April 2004, Evans Brothers transported:and disposed of all of the soil from the RAP
excavations (3,784 tons). This corresponds to approximately l.5 tons per cy which is a
reasonable weight per yard conversion. Evans-Brothers transported 3,479'tons of nonhazardous
Class II soil to Altamont Landfill in Livermore, California, and 304 tons of soil to the Chemical
Waste Management Class I landfill in Kettleman, California. Appendix C contains copies of the
he soil. It is our understanding that soil was sent to the Kettleman
transportation manifests for t g
landfill because it had lead concentrations exceeding 350 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg).
Although no soil stockpile sample results exceeds the California hazardous criteria for total lead
(1,000 mg/kg), most Class II non-hazardous landfills can not accept soil with lead concentrations
greater than 350 mg/kg.
8.0 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
This report documents the completion of the RAP remedial activities for the North Shore
Parcels. The Site is planned for redevelopment with a baseball stadium and an indoor sports
arena, with retail and parking facilities.
f
The North Shore Parcels site consists of six parcels, referred to as areas, which have been
grouped into two OUs. OUI consists of Areas 10, 11, and 20, and OU2 consists of Areas 15, 16,
25971025.DGD 21 11 August 2005
