i <br /> TrikalwelEplab <br /> 2.2 Operable Unit 2 <br /> Area.15 was originally developed in the early 1900s and redeveloped in the 1950s for use as <br /> j" an auto repair facility. All structures at this parcel were"demolished prior to remediation. <br /> The remainder of this parcel is paved. USTs which reportedly stored gasoline,.diesel, and <br /> 1,1,1-trichloroethane (1,1,1-TCA), have been removed, and groundwater monitoring activities <br /> are ongoing under the oversight of the SJCEHD. The CDCs for Area 15 soils.are TPHd <br /> and arsenic. <br /> Area 16 was originally developed in the early 1900s and redeveloped in the mid-1960s or later <br /> for use as an automobile dealership. Most recently, this site was used for automobile salvage, <br /> repair and as an automobile towing yard. All structures at this parcel were demolished prior to <br /> I <br /> remediation. A 1;000-gallon UST, which reportedly stored gasoline and diesel, was removed in <br /> 1986, and groundwater monitoring and remediation activities are ongoing under the oversight of <br /> SII <br /> the SJCEHD. <br /> Area 21 has been in use as a dairy distribution center since,at least 1965. Prior to pre- <br /> remediation demolition, a dairy distribution business occupied the eastern half of the parcel and <br /> the western half of the parcel was vacant and unpaved. A 10,000-gallon UST, which was used to <br /> store gasoline,was removed in 1986. The CDCs for soil at Area 21 are PAHs and arsenic. <br /> i <br /> Groundwater monitoringand remediation activities are ongoing under the oversight of the <br /> SJCEHD. <br /> 3.0 SELECTED REMEDY FOR NORTH SHORE PARCELS <br /> The selected remedy presented in the RAP for impacted soil for both OUl and OU2 is hot spot <br /> excavation and off-site disposal. The remedy for impacted groundwater is outside the scope of <br /> the RAP. SJCEHD is the Local Oversight Agency for the RWQCB in the remediation of leaking <br /> underground fuel tanks. Remediation of groundwater impacted by leaking underground fuel <br /> tanks has been performed at Areas 15, 16, and 21.
