Review of the pre-excavation groundwater data shows that
groundwater monitored in monitoring ,wells nearly down-gradient of the most impacted
monitoring well, MW-21A, was not impacted. Logically, remediation by excavation would be
expected to reduce the impact on groundwater further, therefore the EHD will rescind the
directive to reinstall monitoring wells and will direct preparation of a closure report instead.
Questions or comments should be directed to Lisa Medina at (209) 468-3455 or to Nuel
Henderson at (209) 468-3436.
Sincerely,
Lisa Medina, REH Nuel Henderson, PG
Senior Registered Environmental Health Engineering Geologist
Specialist
2012 Five-Year Review Update Response CUF Claim No 1651.doc
