2111 VIA
---------------
'-
Subsurface Environmental Investigation September 21, 1588
84 Abandoned Lerner Service Station, Lodi, California AGS 38055-1
water interface. The railer was then recovered and contained
approximately 0..5-inch of floating product on -the water. The
product was bailed from the well and placed in the drumwith the
purged wa;`er. No ground-grater sample was obtained.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION[
Subjective evidence (organic vapor readings) of contamination was
present in each boring drilled. Soil contaminaticn was pzesert
from approximately 20 feet below grada to the ground-water
surface in borings B-1 to B-4. Organic vapor readings ranged
from 0 near the surface to 538 ppm at the ground-water surface.
Samples, were not chemical.1y.analyzed because `i.ia client .was .-
considering' buying thw -yerty, `and subjective evidence was
.. 4
sufficient to si.iow that the-ground water had been, contaminated.,
i
Ground-water samples collected initially revealed an obvious
strong hydrocarbon odor and a slight sheen. After the well was
pugged, approximately 0.5-inch of floating product entered the
well. This could indicate that well MSI-1 is on the outer limit_;
of a floating product plume.
4v
iE 11 .
App/ie GPosystems
