d
Subsurface Environmental Investigation September 21, 1988
Abandoned Lerner Service Station, Lodi, California AGS 38055-1
BACKGROUND
® Information provided by RAMCON indicates that five underground
product storage tanks and one waste-oil tank were located at the
site, as shown on the Generalized Site Plan (Plate P-z) . The
underground storage tanks consisted of one 10,000-, one 5,000-,
two 4,400-, and one 3,000-gallon tanks. The contents of the
tanks are unknown to Applied GeoSystems. The six tanks have
since been removed by RAMCON.
According to RAMCON, they collected samples from beneath each
underground storage task during removal of the tanks. Laboratory
analyses of soil samples collected beneath the former wanks
showed no evidence of petroleum hydrocarbon contamination, except
ifs beneath the .10,000-gallon tank. Subjective evidence of product .
spillage was detected at the dispenser.'end of this tank. We
understand that RAMCON conducted further excavation of the soil.
s
0in the tank pita A soil sample was collected from a sand lens at
41 approximately 18 . feet below grade; laboratory analysis indicated
0
total petroleum hydrocarbons at 1,300 parts per million (ppm) . A
40'2r- soil sample was also collected at a depth of 2,7 feet; analysis of
this sample showed a nondetectable concentration of total
petroleum hyd^-ocarbons. Both of the soil samples collected by
11M RAMCON were analyzed. for total lead and showed nondetectable
4
Z-
" A,0P1 ed G90Syste1ns
