Ma
Subsurface Environmental investigation September 21, 1988
Abandoned Lerner Service Station, Lodi, California AGS 38055-1
Soil boring B-1 was drilled to a total depth of 20 feet, soil
boring B-2 to a total depth of 40 feet, soil boring B-3 to a
total depth of 40 feet, and soil boring B-4 to a total depth of
60 feet. Ground water was encountered at approximately 40 feet
below existing grp.de'.
i
Boring B-1 was terminated at 20 feet "because of subjective
evidence of hydrocarbon product. Boring B-2 was drilled 5 feet
north of boring B-1 and to approximately 40 feet below grade.
Subjective evidence of contamination (obvious odor and organic
vapor analyzer readings) was present from approximately 3C feet
to the total depth of the boring. Boring B-3 was drilled
approximately 10 feet south of the tank cavity. Subjective
evidence of contamination was noted from approximately 5 feet
"a below grade to the total depth of 40 feet in boring B-3. Boring
B-4 was converted to monitoring well MW-1, and drilled to a total
depth of 60 feet. Subjective evidence of contamination was "
present between the depths of 30 feet and the ground-water
surface (40 feet)
The sediments encountered in the bo?`ings were classified
according to the Unified Soil Classification System (Plate P-3) .
-- - - --- - ------- - - -- Descriptions-of the-earth-materials=encountered--at -the-site are-- -------- --
40 presented in the Logs of Boring (Plates P-4 through P-11) .
