PUBLIC HEALTH SEM110ES
SAN JOAQUN COL:NTY
)OGl KHANNA M.D. M.P.H.
Health Officer
P.O. Box 2009 • ( 1601 East Hazelton Avenue) • Stockton, California 95201
(209) 468-3400
r77 7
`
i0F0 1993 .1
'^2 MEMORANDUM
TO: Phillip Isorena
CVRWQCB-Aboveground Tank Unit
FROM: Linda Turkatte
San Joaquin County PHS/EHD-Site Mitigation Unit
RE: Roberts Petroleum Services
930 East Victor Road
Lodi Ca
A recent meeting between PHS/EHD staff and the attorney for the
responsible party for the site noted above revealed the need for
oversight for the soil and groundwater contamination believed to
be caused from a release from the bulk aboveground storage tanks
at the facility. As discussed in a telephone conversation
between you and Diane Hinson on December 14, 1993, we are sending
you a copy of the June 1991 letter addressed to Gordon Boggs,
originally referring this site to the Regional Board for
oversight.
The attorney for the responsible party may be submitting
additional information regarding another possible source of the
contamination. However, based on the data received to date,
PHS/EHD has made a determination that the release was solely from
the aboveground tanks.
The data obtained from the removal of the five former underground
tanks from the property indicated that a release of petroleum had
not occurred from these tanks. PHS/EHD is in the process of
issuing a conditional closure letter to the responsible party for
these five underground storage tanks (removed in November of
1989).
Any information submitted by the attorney for the responsible
party will be forwarded to you. If you have any questions,
please call me at (209) 468-3441. Thank You.
c: SWRCB-Lori Casias
c: William Roberts
c: Bruce Woolsey
c: Patrick Riddle
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Servtccs 10
