To whom it may concern,
Fff
lCENE,
FEB 2 5 2009
ENVIRJtifi,1EN T HEALTH
Feb.23,2009
This letter is in response to a recent visit to our business (Marina Boat
Sales) by Aris Cacapit of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department. We have addressed the issues or infractions that he noted on his
Hazardous Waste Generator Program Inspection Report as noted below.
# 12 facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste
We disposed of all hazardous waste that was in numerous different barrels
outside the rear of our shop. All barrels were emptied by American Waste Oil, and
all but three barrels were then taken to the county's hhw facility (Clean Harbors).
Enclosed you will find documentation to support the above claims. We then
moved the three remaining barrels inside our building and put a containment tray
under all of them and labeled them accordingly with proper labels and information
(see enclosed pictures). We cleaned up area outside where barrels used to be
stored.
#20 failed to properly label containers of hazardous waste
We labeled hazardous waste barrels, with Hazardous Waste, contents,
generator name, address, physical state, hazardous properties, and accumulation
start date, as you will see on enclosed pictures.
#21 failed to keep containers of HW closed except when adding/removing HW
We have closed all barrels (as illustrated in enclosed pictures) and will
continue to do so except when adding or removing HW.
#27 failed to keep signed copy for three years
Enclosed you will find all copies which we had at the time of Mr. Cacapit's
visit, but needed time to pull from our files. Will keep files in such a manner as
they are available for review.
#30 failed to keep a copy of the consolidated manifest for three years
Enclosed you will find all copies which we had at the time of Mr. Cacapit's
visit but needed time to pull from our files. Will keep files in such a manner as
they are available for review.
