Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, <br /> explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the <br /> environment. Immediately clean up the dark oil stains and oily debris and manage according to Title 22 hazardous <br /> waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> On site to conduct a routine hazardous waste inspection. <br /> Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification form to the EHD with a statement <br /> documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each violation, and any supporting <br /> paperwork, by 8-9-15. <br /> Please be aware as of January 1, 2013, all businesses are required to submit all hazardous materials information <br /> online to the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS) at http://cers.calepa.ca.gov. Be sure to include <br /> your hazardous waste activity in the Businesses Activities section in CERS in addition to any other relevant <br /> activities and required fields. <br /> Note: <br /> New business owner began operations on 3-2-15. <br /> The following issues are first time violations that were corrected during the inspection. <br /> 605. In the facility hazardous waste storage area are two 55 gallon drums of used oil that lacked a current <br /> accumulation start date. All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information.- <br /> - <br /> nformation:- the words "Hazardous Waste" <br /> - name and address of generator <br /> - hazardous properties <br /> - physical state <br /> - composition (contents) <br /> - accumulation start date <br /> During the inspection, the current accumulation start date of 3-2-15 was added to the drums to coincide with when <br /> the new business owner began operating. <br /> 608. An oil filter was left in the spill control containment pallet of the used oil drums. Used oil filters shall be drained <br /> of free-flowing oil, stored in a closed, rainproof container, labeled as "drained used oil filters," and marked with an <br /> accumulation start date.
