21 October 2013
AGE Project No. 13-2675
Borings will be advanced using a PowerProbe direct-push drill rig. Soil samples will be
collected at five-foot intervals, beginning at five feet bsg from the proposed soil borings for
collection of soil and groundwater samples. Soil samples will not be collected from the
proposed soil-vapor borings. According to recent information available on the State of
California Geotracker website, groundwater at the site likely occurs between 30 to 35 feet
bsg.
Soil, groundwater, and soil-vapor samples will be submitted to a California Department of
Public Health (CDPH)-Certified laboratory and selected soil and groundwater samples will
be analyzed for:
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) in accordance with EPA-method 8015-
modified; and
• Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in accordance with EPA-method 82608.
Selected soil-vapor samples will be analyzed for VOCs in accordance with EPA-method
8260B.
Upon completion of the field work and receipt of laboratory analysis, a brief report will be
prepared. The report will be reviewed and signed by a California Professional Geologist.
PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES
Applicable drilling permits will be obtained from the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department(EHD)and a site-specific Health and Safety Plan will be prepared. Prior
to mobilization, each soil boring location will be clearly marked and a utility clearance
obtained through Underground Service Alert. The EHD will be contacted a minimum of five
days prior to conducting investigation activities to arrange for inspection.
FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative working under the
supervision of a California Professional Geologist. Procedures for sample collection and
analysis, equipment decontamination and sample handling are presented below.
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
