Install three cone penetrometer (CPT) borings off-site to at least 119 feet below surface
grade (bsg) to provide geological data.
2. Install one monitoring well to 65 feet bsg and one monitoring well to 119 feet bsg on
site. Multi-chambered monitoring wells may be installed instead based on the new CPT
data and previously collected geological data.
3. Install two monitoring wells to 65 feet bsg on adjacent parking lot to the east of the site.
Multi-chambered wells may also be considered based on new CPT data.
4. Install one c-sparge"bubbler"well and an ozone generator system near MW-2 to
address the contamination in groundwater. (See condition below)
5. Install one soil vapor extraction (SVE) well near M%V-2 to address the contamination in
the soil. (See condition below)
COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
1. The primary purpose of the new CPT investigation of this site is to provide specific
geological information to determine where to place the screen interval for the proposed
monitoring wells (multi-chambered or clustered). The work plan proposed using the
CPT to collect grab water samples at 52-57 feet bsg, 114.119 feet bsg,and other strata
based on penetrometer logs. The samples should be collected from a different borehole
than the CPT sounding borehole to prevent potential cross-contamination of the
samples.
2. The work plan proposed installing the c-sparge"bubbler"well in the 35 to 50 foot zone.
Current depth to water on site is at about 42 feet bsg.,(Feb 2003). The well screen of
the c-sparge"bubbler"well must be completely below groundwater in order to
maximize the micro-sparging characteristic of ozone sparging. Injecting ozone when
