Each chain-of-custody foray will by filled out by the <br /> sample collector before releasing the samples •,for storage or <br /> transportation. A chain-of-custody record form is shown in Figure <br /> 4. This form will then be routed with the aamples through storage, <br /> l transportation, and laboratory analysis. The field memos will <br /> s. document when samples are released from storage for transport to <br /> the ana'.ytical laboratory. <br /> When the samples arrive at the laboratory, the receiver will <br /> sign the chain-of-custody forms and enter a , laboratory <br /> identification number onto the sample label and chain-of-custody <br /> form. The identification number will be used by the laboratory in <br /> its internal tracking system, thus the status of a particular <br /> . sample can be determined at any time by referring to the laboratory <br /> log books. Both the "laboratory identification and field sample <br /> numbers will be cited when the analytical results are reported. <br /> 4.5 LABORATORY QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> All samples collected during ::he project will be .analyzed by <br /> a certified laboratory for the selected parameters in accordance <br /> with standard EPA-a.ppzovad methods.
