RE-MANUFACTURING LTD. -2- 14 January 1992
17 & 31 October 1991 Inspections
The contaminated soil excavated from the impoundment and temporarily stockpiled on site
had been compacted in lifts in the excavation since the last inspection. Regional
Board staff did not observe the backfill operation. Mr. Moore stated that Anderson &
Associates had done the testing for compaction. He said that they had achieved 90-95%
compaction, but did not have a report at the time. I later received the attached
report which was prepared by Anderson & Associates. Mr. Moore stated that he had
ordered the Ione clay and should be ready to place the clay cap the week of 4 November
1991.
INSPECTION SUMMARY:
The two confirmation samples collected from beneath the impoundment did not confirm the
presence of styrene in that area. The public notice was subsequently removed because
the Re-Manufacturing agenda item was postponed to a later date.
71't-L a-" -
o EAN McCUE
water Resource Control Engineer
JEM:jm
Attachments
