Meeting, Geweke Site • - 2 - • 7 June 1994
16 South Cherokee Lane, Lodi
We also discussed your intent to proceed with full scale bioremediation. If you choose to do so, the
report must also contain the following:
1. An estimate of the zone of influence of ground water inoculation;
2. An estimate of the time to complete bioremediation at the site;
3. A method for determining the zones of influence of the entire system for soil and ground
water; and
4. A contingency plan for implementing other remediation procedures in the event the
bioremediation system fails to show significant cleanup of soil and ground water.
Regardless of the method of remediation that is implemented, the ground water plume must be
controlled. A ground water pump and treat system must be installed in the event the plume has
moved beyond the downgradient monitoring wells. Before installing a pump and treat system, a
24-hour (minimum) aquifer test must be conducted. By 17 June 1994, submit a proposal to
complete the aquifer test by 15 July 1994.
Also, if you intend to proceed with full scale bioremediation, it will be necessary to modify the
Monitoring and Reporting Program included in the Cleanup and Abatement Order to include analyses
for bacteria and their byproducts. Bacterial analysis of soil and ground water samples including
identification of species to determine their presence in soil and ground water would be required.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 255-3133.
ELI BETH A.
