AGE proposes to complete four cone penetrometer testing(CPT)borings on-site to define
the vertical extent of groundwater contamination, and install one off-site monitoring well to monitor the extent of
site contaminants.
I discussed the CPT locations with AGE on 11 October 2001, and agreed that one off-site CPT,and two on-site
CPTs would be sufficient to define the vertical extent of groundwater contamination at this time. It was also
agreed that the off-site monitoring well should be proposed once data from all the CPT borings are received and
reviewed. The Workplan is approved with the following additions and comments:
• Eliminate the CPT boring proposed east of MW-3;
• Complete one CPT boring in the area of the former UST and dispensers;
• Complete one CPT boring near the proposed monitoring well location south of MW-12;
• Analyze all groundwater samples collected by EPA Method 8260B including fuel oxygenates and
additives and report all peaks; and
• Submit a letter report of findings with CPT data,results of groundwater analyses, and a proposed well
construction design for the off-site monitoring well.
Please notify me at least two business days prior to any site work or sampling. If you have any questions or
,,zornments,please call me at(916)255-3115.
Marty Hartzell,R.G.
Associate Engineering Geologist
cc: Mr. Mark Owens,UST Cleanup Fund, SWRCB, Sacramento
Mr. Harlin Knoll, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division, Stockton
Mr.Brian Millman, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Incorporated, Stockton
California Environmental Protection Agency
0 Recycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real.
