Mr. Paul Supple
Arco Station No. 6100
25775 Patterson Pass Road
Page 3 of
at 111 feet below surface grade (bsg) in boring B-32/MW-1 at concentrations of
0.194 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) and 0.436 mg/kg, respectively. The
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board requires that these
compounds be fully assessed prior to closure consideration. Please include
1,2-DCA and EDB in all future sample analyses.
Finally, Delta identified one water supply well 2000 feet southeast of the site in
the down-gradient direction. This appears to be the artesian well noted on the
USGS base map utilized to plot identified wells in Appendix C. Although it does
not seem likely that the release on the subject site would impact a well at that
distance, there has been free product migration off-site toward the southeast of
unknown extent, volume or duration; therefore, EHD requests that you verify the
presence or absence of the well. If the well exists, please sample this well during
your next quarterly ground water monitoring event and analyze the sample for all
constituents of concern.
Questions or comments may be directed to Nuel Henderson by telephone at
(209) 468-3436, or by mail to the address on the letter head.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Nuel C. Henderson, Jr., RG Margaret Lagorio, REHS
Unit IV - Site Mitigation Supervisor, Unit IV
cc: James L. L. Barton — CVRWQCB
Jay R. Johnson - Stratus
