(Stratus) for the
above-referenced site.
To satisfy the EHD directive to continue delineating the down-gradient extent of
free product and impacted perched groundwater migrating from the subject site,
Stratus proposes installation of five soil borings (B-44 through B-48) down
gradient of known free-product or highly impacted perched groundwater to
depths of 120 to 135 feet below surface grade (bsg). The borings will be
advanced utilizing a mud-rotary system and will be continuously cored from
approximately 30 feet bsg to total depth to detect soil impacted by free product of
impacted groundwater. Selected soil samples will be analyzed for gasoline range
organics (GRO), benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and total xylenes (BTEX),
methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), ethyl tertiary
butyl ether (ETBE), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), 1,2-dichloroethane (1 ,2-DCA),
ethylene dibromide (EDB) and ethanol.
Following analysis of data derived from the soil borings, five groundwater
monitoring wells (MW-16 through MW-20) will be installed near the five soil
borings screened appropriately to delineate and monitor free product and/or
impacted groundwater migrating along the base of the second sand unit. Four of
the five proposed borings and proposed monitoring wells will be located on the
Vieira Family Trust property south of the subject site, one soil boring and
possible monitoring well will be on the Patterson Pass right-of-way.
EHD finds the proposed scope of work to be necessary and adequate for further
delineation and characterization of the contaminants migrating in a southeasterly
direction from your site, and therefore approves the WP.
