(Stratus) is conducting an environmental investigation at the ARCO
facility located at 25775 Patterson Pass Road, Tracy, California. As part of the on-site
investigation, representatives of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (SJCEHD) have requested that the limits of the environmental investigation
be extended to nearby properties.
This letter is to request authorization for Stratus and our subcontractors to drill four
additional soil borings and install four additional groundwater monitoring wells on your
property, located at 26106 South Patterson Pass Road, Tracy, California. The
environmental investigation we propose to conduct on your property will provide data on
the condition of soil and groundwater south and southeast of the ARCO facility, and will
comply with SJCEHD requirements that potentially impacted soil and groundwater be
delineated.
Stratus has enclosed two copies of the Access Agreement form and a figure. Shown on
the figure are the approximate locations of the soil borings we propose to drill on your
property. The actual locations of the soil borings will be based on accessibility of a drill
rig and location of underground utilities. Stratus will contact you prior to beginning the
work to obtain approval of the drilling locations.
If you agree to let Stratus and its contractors complete the proposed soil boring and
monitoring well installation activities on your property, ARCO/BP will do the following:
• ARCO/BP will do this work at no cost to you.
• ARCO/BP will obtain your approval of the monitoring well locations prior to
the installation of the wells.
• ARCO/BP will provide you with the results of the work and information about
ARCO/BP's environmental investigation.
KABp-Arco for URS\6100\Correspondence\6100-vieira-access letter-091205.doc
