If new underground piping is installed, it will be wrapped, coated, and cathodically protected. All new <br /> underground piping will be integrity tested before being placed into service. New piping, valves, and <br /> appurtenances will conform to relevant industry codes. If modifications or repairs are made to the existing <br /> underground piping it will be pressure tested before being placed into service. <br /> 18.4.2 Out of Service Piping—§I12.8(d)(2) <br /> Piping taken permanently out of service will be drained properly and isolated from active processes. <br /> Secured caps or blank flanges will be used if piping is abandoned in place and will be marked as to its <br /> origin. Tank loading ports are capped when not in use. <br /> 18.4.3 Piping Support Design—§112.8(d)(3) <br /> Pipe supports for aboveground installations will be designed to minimize abrasion and corrosion and allow <br /> pipe expansion and contraction. <br /> 18.4.4 Inspection of Valves and Piping—§112.8(d)(4) <br /> The Facility inspects all aboveground valves, piping, and appurtenances at least monthly as outlined in <br /> Section 8.2. During the inspection, the general condition of fittings, expansion joints, valves, catch pans, <br /> pipeline supports, and piping. If buried piping is installed, or exposed for maintenance/repair, they must <br /> also conduct integrity and leak testing of such piping at the time of installation,modification, construction, <br /> relocation, or replacement. <br /> 18.4.5 Aboveground Piping—§112.8(d)(5) <br /> There is no aboveground piping in areas that can be impacted by vehicles and thus warning signs are not <br /> needed. <br /> New piping will be installed aboveground whenever feasible. <br /> 44 <br />
