Cherokee Rd.
Stockton, CA 95205
PHS-EHD has reviewed the "Addendum Workplan for Additional Site Investigation and Groundwater
Monitoring" submitted by ESE on February 13, 1995 and has the following comments.
Well construction proposed lists the screened interval at 65 to 105 feet below ground surface. Only twenty feet
(20) of factory slotted screened interval is to be used in construction of monitoring wells. Previously recorded
high and low groundwater depths are the results of extreme conditions and wells placed now are not intended to
provide for these conditions.
PHS-EHD recommends that the depths below ground surface for the screened interval be such that approximately
one-third be above the current depth to groundwater and two-thirds below. This would provide for a well that
would only be about 90' deep, and not the 105' proposed. Please adjust-your construction proposal to reflect
this maximum screened interval and position so that future sampling/monitoring events may be considered as an
accurate representation of the groundwater beneath your site.
The legend on Figure 1 included within the addendum noted an "optional monitoring well" but no location of
this well could be found on the map. Without a description and location of this well, PHS-EHD will not allow
its placement.
PHS-EHD hereby approves the workplan with these changes and will issue the boring permit as soon as the
application and $89.00 fee are received and processed.
If you have any questions, please contact Michael Infurna at (209)468-3454.
I
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Enviro ental Health Division
Michael Inform, Senior REHS Diane M.
