CHEROKEE ROAD, STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
SITE. CODE,1800 -
ESE PROJECT 6925400
Dear Mr. Infurna:
Environmental Science & Engineering, Inc. (ESE) has prepared this letter as a mini-workplan
for well abandonment for your review and approval. Due to heavy truck traffic in the area of
the fueling island facility at the subject site, the monitoring well designated UST-1 has been
damaged and should be properly abandoned. Three monitoring wells designated UST-2, UST-3
and UST-4 that were installed around the subject fueling island facility in early April 1995 and
would be utilized to continue the monitoring of the subsurface conditions. A brief description.
of the abandonment procedure is given below.
The scope of work for the abandonment of monitoring well UST-1 is to pressure grout the 4"
diameter well to its depth of 103 feet below ground surface. The top 30 feet of PVC casing will
be drilled out, and the boring grouted to the surface. All well debris will be drummed. The
licensed driller selected for the abandonment is Spectrum of Stockton. The well abandonment
will be documented in a letter for your files.
Please contact David Blunt at (510) 685-4053 with any questions or comments regarding this
abandonment of UST-1. I look forward to hearing from you so that work can be scheduled.
Sincerely,
ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE & ENGINEERING, INC.,
David Blunt, RG 4516
Senior Geologist ,
PC: Ellis Cecchini
L.
