10 June 2008
AGE NC Project No. 97-0312
2.5.2. Ozone BST Analysis
For the Ozone BST,soil samples collected from the proposed boring(B30)will be combined with.
ground water collected from the selected ground water monitoringwells(MW-5 and MW-8)located
in the area of former pump island area. AGE proposes-to assess two sets of soil and water matrix
samples,in addition to laboratory quality assurance and'quality controls (QA/QC)to comprise an
analytical batch for chemical comparison.AGE proposes this method to generally create real-time
reactions, between soil and ground water from the site, which may be occurring in the subsurface
due to in-situ ozone injection.
During the Ozone BST,ground water samples will be periodically analyzed for 1,2-dichloroethene .
(1,2-DCA), Cr+6, and ozone to calculate changes in concentration to both hydrocarbons and.
by-products which are detrimental to water quality:
A geochemical evaluation (GE)and a written report of findings will be prepared by McCampbell
Analytical Inc.(MAI),a CDPH-certified laboratory for CVRWQCB consideration and will include
the results of the formation of by-products and potential for contaminant reduction, with generalized
worst case reactions. The report will be in a.format acceptable to the CVRWQCB, and will be
reviewed by a California Professional Geologist.
2.6. REPORT PREPARATION
Results of the high vacuum SVE Test and Ozone BST will be presented in a completion of a
Remedial Action Work Plan or Remediation Feasibility Report.Based on the results of the Ozone
BST,preparation of an in-situ ozone injection pilot test.work plan may be recommended. The work
plans or report will be in a format acceptable to the CVRWQCB, and will be reviewed and signed
by a California Professional Geologist.
3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Professional Geologist. Procedures for SVE well installations, SVE Test, soil and ground water
sampling, and the Ozone BST procedures are described below.
3.1. DRILLING AND SOIL SAMPLING
A soil boring for collection of soil sampling to be used in the Ozone BST will be advanced to a depth
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
r
