S e , <br /> i <br /> • 12,February 2002 <br /> AGE-NC Project No 97-0312 , <br />' Page 7 of 18 <br /> 3 5 MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND DEVELOPMENT <br /> I ' <br /> Following completion of the pilot soil borings,'the ground water monitoring wells will be installed <br /> in the soil bonngs It is anticipated that the shallow well will be screened from appfoximately 60 to <br /> 65 feet bsg and the deep well will be screened from approximately 85 to 90 feet bsg Following well <br /> installation, the wells will be developed to maximize water flow into the wells and minimize the <br /> amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the wells dunng pumping or bailing Procedures for well <br /> installation and development are presented in Sections 4 4 and 4 5, respectively <br /> 3 6 GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS <br /> " <br /> Ground water monitoring and sampling of the newly installed ground water monitoring wells will <br /> be conducted on a quarterly basis and will be incorporated into the ground water monitoring program <br /> currently in effect for the site Ground water monitoring activities will include recording depth to <br /> ground water measurements and proper collection of ground water samples Ground water sample <br /> collection procedures are described in Section 4 6 <br /> Groundwater samples will be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for the following constituents <br /> • TPH-g and TPH-d in accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified, <br /> • BTEX and MTBE in accordance with EPA Method 8020, <br /> • Fuel oxygenated compounds including DIPE, ETBE, MTBE, TAME, TBA, methanol and <br /> ethanol by EPA Method 8260 Modified, and <br /> • EDB and 1,2-DCA by EPA Method 8260 Modified <br /> Laboratory reports for ground water analyses,testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality <br /> control (QA/QC)reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report <br /> with the findings and recommendations If ground water is found to be significantly impacted by <br /> 1,2-DCA additional wells will be proposed in an addendum work plan to delineate the impacted ' <br /> ground water as directed by the EHD letter of 09 October 2001 ' <br /> I ' 4 _ <br /> In addition, ground water samples will be collected,and analyzed for TOC, in accordance with, <br /> ASTM Methods D854, D5084 and D2974;respectively, total colony units (CFU) indicates the <br /> Ipopulations of ndigenous total microbiological population as related to the hydrocarbon-degrading , <br /> bacteria(SM9215B)population at the site,pH(EPAI 50 1), concentrations ofpotassium,nitrogen, <br /> orthophosphate (total), potassium, ammonium (All EPA 300 or equivalent), and possibly, the <br /> presence of biotoxic compounds in the subsurface at the site, such as metals, pesticides or caustic r <br /> . materials (salts) The acquired data will be utilized in a future remediation feasibility report <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> , <br />
