i <br /> r„1s., ' r n = i u_= _— _— r •.i. ..x ' _ a, _r i — _ _�• - _ ' ` c_ ry r ` r, — =It: <br /> s ' <br /> ) 12 February 2002 <br /> I AGE-NC Project No 97-0312 <br />' Page 6 of 18 , <br /> i <br /> 33 SOIL BORINGS <br /> Two soil borings will be advanced northeast of the UST-1/UST-5 locations for installatidn of a dual <br />' s level clustered ground water monitoring well The proposed location has been selected to assess <br /> possible 1,2-DCA- and MTBE-impacted ground water at the site and is down-gradient of UST-5 <br /> The screens of the wells will be installed to overlap coarse-grained zones at depths of approximately <br />' 60 to 65 feet bsg and 85 to 90 feet bsg The proposed cluster well location is illustrated on Figure 4 <br /> Procedures for the advancement of pilot borings are described below in Section 4 2 <br /> 3 4 SOIL SAMPLE ANALYSIS <br /> Selected soil samples collected from the pilot boring will be submitted for laboratory analysis Soil <br /> samples will be selected for laboratory analysis based on field observations,,including petroleum <br />' hydrocarbon staining and odor, changes in lithology, suspected occurrence in the capillary fringe <br /> zone, and/or organic vapor meter(OVM) readings Select soil samples will be analyzed by a State <br />'• of California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified laboratory for the following <br /> constituents <br /> t , <br /> • TPH-g and TPH-d by EPA Method 8015 Modified, <br /> I BTEX and MTBE by EPA Method 8020, <br /> • Fuel oxygenating compounds including di-isopropyl ether(DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether <br /> (ETBE), MTBE, tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME); tertiary-butanol (TBA), ethanol and <br /> methanol by EPA Method 5035/8260 <br /> • Ethylene dibromide (EDB) and 1,2-dichloroethane (1;2-DCA)" by EPA Method 8260 <br /> Modified <br /> I In addition, analyses will be conducted on selected samples to characterize the total organic content <br /> (TQC), pH, intrinsic permeability and porosity <br /> Laboratory reports for ground water analyses;testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality <br /> control (QA/QC) reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report <br /> v with the findings and recommendations- <br /> I , <br /> ,• <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmentai,Inc <br /> r <br />
