STATUS REPORT
ABANDONMENT OF WELL AG-3
The pump was successfully opened from the well on August 11, 1995. Total depth of the
well was measured at 570 feet bgs compared to an original constructed depth of 608 feet
bgs.
Puma Information
Horsepower: 50
RPM: 1770
Depth of Pump: 200 feet bgs
Estimated Capacity: 3500 gpm
Pertinent information regarding the well include the following:
Well Condition (as of May 21, 1995)
Condition of Casing : Moderate to Poor
Degree of Encrustation: Mild to Heavy
Perforated Intervals: Locally between 127 and 203 feet bgs, from 372 to 374 feet
bgs, and locally between 495 and 606 feet bgs (see video
summary).
Total Depth: 570 feet bgs
Remainder of casing is filled with sediment and debris
Due to sand wedging which prevented its removal, the column pipe inside of AG-3 was cut
at 125 feet and 155 feet bgs. The upper portion of the column pipe was removed from the
well. A milling tool and drill rig was used to push and break up the bowls below the
column pipe so that the well was opened to a total depth of approximately 570 feet. The
remainder of the well (to a depth of 608 feet) is presumed to be filled with accumulated
sediment and the remainder of the pump bowls and intake pipe.
A video survey was then performed of the interior of the well casing and a summary of the
survey is attached. The video showed that the overall condition of the well is moderate to
poor. Several breaks and holes in the casing are visible, and the well is deformed (i.e., out
of round) locally with the most severe deformation occurring at approximately 174 feet
bgs. Much of the casing is severely encrusted; however, loss of water to the formation
during milling and zones of open perforations indicate that the casing is not closed.
