Unfortunately, Mr. Valinoti' s letter misleads <br /> everyone and also gives the misconception that he has some major <br /> role to play in this in the first place. The San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services is but one participant in this action and his <br /> approach and perspective are both incorrect and irresponsible. <br /> Instead of writing letters or doing news releases, his office and <br /> yours could have easily ascertained the status from the State, who <br /> has historically represented the County' s interests regarding such <br /> matters for DDRW. Though the issue of such coordination was not <br /> formalized at a joint November 1991 meeting, and the County was <br /> there only as a DDRW courtesy invitation, we have always understood <br /> that the State would keep them informed. <br /> Let me sum up what has occurred to date: <br /> a. In August 1990, DDRW initiated its quarterly well monitoring <br /> investigation at its Tracy site. <br /> b. On September 28, 1990, the Army Corps of Engineers (CoE) , <br /> Huntsville, Alabama, awarded a quarterly well monitoring contract. <br /> C. On May 28, 1991, the quarterly well monitoring program <br /> began. Trichloroethylene (TCE) was detected at 12 parts per billion <br /> (ppb) level in a monitoring well adjacent to the Rose residence on <br /> Banta Road. <br /> monitoringd. rly <br /> oAugust 2 7 to September 2lsecond <br /> roundwascompleted.
