Off-Site Domestic Supply Wells -3- 22 November 1991
DDRW, Tracy
I . All Pure Chemical . This facility manufactures chlorine and is currently being
regulated by the Board. Robert Evans is the Project Manager and has requested the
facility to investigate potential ground water contamination by total dissolved
solids (TDS) and chloroform. There are four monitoring wells and two supply wells
at this site.
2. The crude oil pipeline along the Southern Pacific Railroad. The potential impacts
from leaks in the pipeline is currently being investigated by the Board (Robert
Evans) and All Pure Chemical .
3. Lyotha Loading Station. EMCON performed a site assessment in 1985, which was
funded by Chevron. There are four fuel tanks and two monitoring and two domestic
wells at the site.
The Board should conduct, as soon as possible, a "mini " well survey of the wells at the
eastern end of the DDRW, Tracy site, at All Pure Chemical and the Lyotha Loading
Station. The monitor and supply wells should be measured for ground water levels and
samples collected and analyzed in-house for VOCs. This mini survey should indicate the
direction of ground water flow (representing only one "snap-shot" of time) and whether
or not there are VOCs present in the ground water. This information will help to
determine whether or not DDRW, Tracy, or any other off-site facility, is the source of
a particular VOC ground water contaminant.
CKW:cw
