Our specific concerns
are the reliability of certain well logs, the detail presented
in the subsurface geology, and the characterization of water
bearing units. The enclosed memo also includes
recommendations for additional work necessary to address our
concerns.
Through discussions with your staff and WCC it is our
understanding that the investigation of hydrogeologic
conditions is continuing. New data will be incorporated into
a supplementary report for regulatory review. Items discussed
for inclusion are reevaluated well logs, new cross-sections,
and iso-pack maps delineating contaminant concentrations.
This supplementary report will be reviewed and commented upon
its arrival.
Comments on the endangerment assessment are being prepared by
the Departments' headquarters staff. Those comments will be
forwarded at a future date.
We look forward to working closely with your staff to complete
the RI and move towards remedial measures.
