Mr. Marshall Cloud
April 18, 2008
Page 2
1) Nomenclature; The title of the work plan identifies "Warehouse 10" consistent
with the header on each page, but is inconsistent with the text and Figure 1-1
both identifying "Building 10." The work plan should present a consistent use of
the nomenclature.
2) Page 1-1, Section 1.1.3, last sentence; The work plan text should identify that the
reason LM093AU has not been sampled since 3Q98 is that the well was
decommissioned in 1999. The work plan should identify the current status of the
ground water monitoring well LM093AU.
3) Page 1-2, Section 1.1.5, third sentence; The section should identify the planned
turnaround times (TATs) for the "accelerated process."
4) Figure 1-1; LM093AU is a decommissioned monitoring well and should be
depicted as "Former Monitoring Well Location" in the figure's Legend along with
its own icon.
5) Page 2-1, Section 2.0.3, first sentence; The relevant and applicable SWMU 20
and SWMU 33 investigations should be included an appendix to this Work Plan
to assist in the regulatory reviews but also documentation for the administrative
record.
6.) Page 2-2, Section 2.1.1, last sentence; See comment #3.
7) Page 2-2, Section 2.1.3, last sentence; The work plan should indicate whether
the ground water samples will undergo the same 24-hour or 48-hour TAT if the
soil vapor or soil samples indicate the presence of Volatile Organic Compounds
or Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons.
8) Page 3-2, Table 3-1, Building 10 Sampling Design, fourth bullet; The Section
states that no more than 42 soil vapor samples will be collected, excluding QC
samples. The proposed number contradicts Table 2-1 which states that 45 soil
vapor samples will be collected, excluding quality control samples. The work
plan should correct the discrepancy in the number of soil vapor samples planned
for collection, excluding quality control samples.
9) Page 3-3, Table 3-1, second bullet; See comment #7.
10) Page 3-4, Section 3.1.2.4, second to last sentence; See comment #8.
