The work plan discusses the conversion of nine existing
monitoring wells into temporary extraction wells in order to accelerate the mass removal
of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) exceeding the Aquifer Cleanup Level (ACL) from
groundwater at DDJC-Tracy.
The proposed focused extraction wells will each have pump step tests conducted over a
period of one week. The pump tests goals are to remove VOCs from ground water
exceeding the ACL, provide additional hydrogeologic data for Tracy Ground Water
Transport Model, calculate focused extraction total mass and mass removal rates, and
assess the horizontal and vertical hydraulic influence from pumping.
DTSC has reviewed the above-mentioned report and has the following comments:
General Comment
1. DTSC is pleased that DDJC-Tracy is implementing optimization efforts in its
pump and treat system through focused ground water extraction and of VOCs in
ground water above the ACL.
® Printed on Recycled Paper
