Equipment Decontamination Procedures On the basis of historic and current land use and existing groundwater monitoring data,no hazardous constituents are expected at the drilling locations.The folio ing steps therefore represent the minimum decontamination procedures to be employed. • All equipment used for constructing the well must be free of cc ntamination and cleaned to prevent potential cross contamination.Equipment,tools,materials,etc. will be decontaminated prior to the beginning of the work and prior to the well installation.For example,all screens and casings used for mon toring wells should be in a sterile and contaminant-free condition when placed in I he ground. • Some form of steam cleaning or high-pressure water-spraying technique combined with a low-suds non-phosphate detergent shall be employed followed by rinsing with potable water.The rinseate and drill cuttings will be spre id on the ground at the site.Discharge to stormwater drains or surface water featL res is not acceptable. 1.7. Health and Safety Plan No hazardous constituents or contamination are expected at the proje ct site locations,and all work will be carried out in compliance with Occupational Safety an d Health Administration (OSHA)regulations and guidelines.All personnel worl qng at the site during well construction and abandonment activities shall be familiar with tl ese regulations and guidelines. The primary physical hazards are associated with the use of the drilling rig and supporting vehicles.All drillers performing work must possess required C-57 license,and all drill crew members shall receive site-specific training prior to beginning work. he licensed driller shall be responsible for the safe operation of the drill rig as well as the crew's adherence to all safety procedures.The crew members and other personnel at the site shall wear protective equipment(i.e.,hard hat,gloves,and steel toed boots),and be aware of all hazards and control procedures.All personnel working at the site sha 1 participate in the Daily Safety Meetings and be aware of all emergency procedures. Before drilling,the existence and location of underground pipe, electrical equipment and gas lines will be determined.Documentation that nearby utilities have been marked on the ground,and that the drill site has been cleared shall be in the possess on of the Field Operations Manager prior to commencement of drilling at the site.If rifling is conducted in HydroFocus, Inc. 4
