ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS • 3
CITY OF LATHROP WASTEWATER PLANT NO. 2
LATHROP, SANJOAQUIN COUNTY
f. Provide a land application area description, including at least the following information:
i. Scaled plans showing the limits of all proposed land application areas, including their
relationship to storm drains and surface waters;
ii. For each discrete irrigation area, specify the following:
t. total available area;
2. net available area(considering setbacks required per 22 CCR, Division 4 water
reclamation regulations);
3. type of irrigation systems planned, discuss alternative means of wastewater
application (other than sprinkler application). The WDRs will prohibit spray
application when wind velocity exceeds 30 mph;
4. selected crops, agronomic nutrient rates, and water application rates;
s. tailwater control and return to the storage pond;
6. public access control.
g. Provide calculations of BOD loading and total nitrogen loading in land application areas.
Maximum allowable BOD loading will be 300 lbs/ac-day (maximum) and 100 lbs/ac-day
(seven-day average). Cropping activities must be sufficient to take up all the nitrogen applied,
assume all nitrogen applied is plant available nitrogen;
h. Submit a conceptual cropping plan which describes available acreage, crop type, crop water
usage, cutting, harvest and removal for complete crop uptake of all applied nitrogen.
Wastewater application shall be performed at agronomic rates;
i. Provide an evaluation of total dissolved solids (TDS) concentrations in the wastewater and an
evaluation of the TDS concentrations in the land application area percolate. Compare the
estimated percolate concentration to the groundwater quality. Will the percolate increase the
groundwater TDS concentration?
j. Means and methods to control public access and/or provide legally required notice regarding
exposure to treated effluent.
8. Narrative description of proposed solids treatment, storage, and disposal practices for debris, grit,
screenings, and biosolids:
a. Method and frequency of disposal;
b. Disposal site/area name(s) and location(s);
c. On-site storage areas (must be lined to control leachate); and
d. Public access controls.
9. A Title 22 Engineering Report for the use of reclaimed water is required for this project. The
Department of Health Services is responsible for review and approval of the Title 22 report. You
should anticipate approximately 60-90 days for DHS to review the report and provide comments.
10. Provide a copy of the floodplain redesignation documentation.
C:WM=Ffl P itaV d p_WW1PJUftN 70301. O
