would be that the developer honor the original contract it has
with the City of Manteca, or have the City of Lathrop proceed
with its proposed future waste water treatment plant west of
. Interstate 5. This project , site will provide adequate sewerage
service. to a multitude instead of a limited capacity to a select
few.
:Fven, with the drought, our property at 3091 W. Yosemite Avenue
becomes flooded when it rains because of the aforementioned
conditions . Neighboring properties also share this problem.
We are serviced by our own well and septic tank, as is the
case with all th'e businesses and residents of the area. If this
project is Allowed to,proceed , we will be sandwiched between two
waste water/sludge sewage treatment plants (Manteca. and Lathrop) --
less than one mile apart. The existing one already causing
object'ional odors and"a proposed additional one compounding the
health risks , water quality, industrial contaminants, and problems
to Oakwood Lake , the San Joaquin and Sacramento Rivers, and the
Delta in regard to fish, wildlife and recreational enjoyment.
As a landowner who will be affected by the proposed project,
I will consider seeking appropriate legal. remedies to ensure
that those responsible will be held monetarily accountable for
any health hazards , environmental conditions, and decreased
property values , etc.
I firmly believe that this project will be detrimental to the
surrounding area. I urge you to please help the victims of this
potential disaster and to advise the California Regional Water
Quality Control Board against permittiry this treatment Plant to
proceed.
Si cerelCCy ,
ane Lewis
20319 S.
