25 March 2005
AGE-NC Project No 97-0311
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE concludes:
• Groundwater was encountered at approximately 47.6 feet bsg.Groundwater flow was south
to southwest across the site at a gradient of approximately 0.0024 ft/ft.
• No target analytes were detected in ground water samples collected at the site.
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends:
• Previous site assessment and ground water monitoring conducted over three quarters has
demonstrated no solvent impact to ground water at the site. No continuation of the
monitoring program is required.
• No significant mass of solvents were detected in soil samples collected near the former work
area at the northeast corner of the site, nor were solvents of concern detected in soil samples
collected down-gradient of the working areas.Low concentrations of PCE were detected in
shallow soil samples near the northwest edge of the site and detected in low concentrations
from within soil vapor samples collected in 1997. These low concentrations do not pose a
sufficient threat to ground water to continue the site investigation nor the effort (costs) of
remediation; therefore, site closure should be granted. Monitoring wells may require
destruction or transfer to the City of Lodi.
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory.Evaluation of the geologic/hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of
available data points(ground water samples)and subsurface conditions may vary away from these
data points. No other warranty, expressed or implied,is made as to the professional interpretations,
opinions and recommendations contained in this report.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
