I highlighted
applicable sections of the work plan and marked-up the figure to indicate proposed sampling locations. If approved, this
work will be performed 7/29 and 7/30, and will overlap with the work on permit SR0067624,which will be concluded on
8/2 (we will only be in the field 3 days next week:7/29, 7/30, and 8/2).
Regarding SR0067624,the water board has recommended that an additional soil gas sampling location be included in
the scope. The permit is currently for 2 soil gas borings installed by direct push to a depth of 5 ft bgs. The third boring
would also be to 5 ft bgs, but because of access limitations, would be completed by hand auger, thus requiring a 48-hour
equilibration time between probe construction and sampling according to DTSC guidance documents. Logistically,we
would have to install the third probe on Monday 7/29 and would sample on Friday 8/2.
Is it possible to add this third soil gas probe to the previously-issued permit SR0067624?And does the county have any
objection to the third soil gas probe remaining in the ground for four days?
Thank you for your prompt review. I apologize that this came together at the last minute and I appreciate your help
turning around these permits so quickly.
