BTEX constituents were detected at concentrations as high as 180 µg/1 benzene(CPTO1/93.5-97.5),2,300 gg/l toluene(CPT02/137-141), 1,200 gg/l ethylbenzene (CPT02/137-141) and 6,600 µg/1 total xylenes (CPT02/137-141). • HU-5: TPH-g and TPH-d were detected in the ground water sample CPT03/176-180 collected from HU-5 at concentrations of 5,400 gg/l and 3,000 gg/l, respectively. BTEX constituents were detected at concentrations of 23 gg/1 (benzene), 330 gg/1 (toluene), 200 4g/1 (ethylbenzene) and 1,180 gg/1 (total xylene). • The analytical results of the off-site grab ground water samples collected from each sampling interval south and east of the former UST No. 3 area had no detectable concentrations of the chemicals of concern (CPT-10 through CPT-14). Former UST Cluster Analytes of concern were not detected in ground water samples collected from the soil borings advanced near the former UST cluster area. OFF-SITE CPT INVESTIGATION S Between 21, 22 and 23 September,^four CPT soil borings (CPT-10 through CPT-13) and five individually established borings(CPT-10 through CPT-14)for collection of ground water samples were advanced at the southern UST No. 3 location(Figure 2). CPT soi 1 borings were advanced to define the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water down-gradient of the former southern UST area. Borings were advanced at the following locations and depth: • CPT-10 and associated ground water sampling boring were advanced near the northern sidewalk of Clay Street, approximately 130 feet east of boring CPT-03. CPT-10 was advanced to approximately 76 feet bsg and was terminated due to refusal. CPT-10 was sampled between 22 and 25 feet bsg and between 73 and 76 feet bsg. • CPT-11 and associated ground water sampling boring were advanced near the northern sidewalk of Clay Street,approximately 80 feet east of boring CPT-03.CPT-11 was advanced to approximately 75 feet bsg and was terminated due to refusal. CPT-11 was sampled between 25 and 28 feet bsg and between 65 and 68 feet bsg. • CPT-12 and associated ground water sampling boring were advanced near the southern sidewalk of Clay Street, approximately 60 feet south of boring CPT-03. CPT-12 was advanced to approximately 185 feet bsg. CPT-12 was sampled between 81 and 84 feet bsg, 98 and 101 feet bsg, 134 and 137 feet bsg, 152 and 155 feet bsg and 182 and 185 feet bsg.
