Box 388 0 Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> (209) 468-3420 <br /> DANIEL A SILVA C �OFY <br /> WEST CLAY PROPERTIES <br /> PO BOX 6152 <br /> STOCKTON CA 95206 JAN -5 <br /> RE: West Clay Properties SITE CODE: 1065 <br /> 639 West Clay Street <br /> San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) has <br /> reviewed the November 21, 1994 Workplan for additional Soil and Groundwater Assessment, <br /> the November 11, 1994 Soil and Groundwater Assessment Report, and the Fourth Quarter <br /> Monitoring Report dated January 3, 1995 for sampling which was conducted on December 16, <br /> 1994 for the above referenced site. <br /> The workplan proposes one downgradient hydropunch, one downgradient monitoring well <br /> installation, continuation of the existing overexcavation, and sampling of the soil stockpiles. In <br /> order for the workplan to meet PHS/EHD requirements the following changes shall be included <br /> with or supersede corresponding sections of the workplan: <br /> 1) There is currently a valid permit for Spectrum to perform additional drilling. The permit <br /> expires on 3/24/95. <br /> 2) The report states that Kleinfelder proposes to analyze the bottom three soil samples from each <br /> boring. PHS/EHD recommends soil boring samples submitted for analysis shall be based upon <br /> field screening. <br /> 3) The Hydropunch II borehole shall be grouted with a cement bentonite grout slurry <br /> 3) Laboratory analysis of water for BTEX shall be by EPA method 602. <br /> 4) Laboratory analysis of soil for TPH gas shall be by EPA method 8015 with a 5030 extraction. <br /> Laboratory analysis of soil for BTEX shall be by EPA method 8020 with a 5030 extraction. <br /> Laboratory analysis of soil for TPH diesel (kerosene range) shall be by EPA method 8015 with <br /> a 3550 extraction. <br /> 5) A discrete sample of soil from the soil stockpile shall be taken for every 25 cubic yards of <br /> soil contained in the stockpile. Soil intended for reuse on the site shall be sampled in the <br /> presence of a PHS/EHD representative. Soil that is to be removed shall be sampled pursuant to <br /> the requirements of the receiving facility. <br /> A Di%ision of San Joaquin Counth Health Care Services <br />
