West Clay Properties Site Code: 1065
639 West Clay Street
Stockton,CA 95206
WORKPLAN: Off-Site Assessment and Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan Addendum
DATED: June 15,2005 PREPARED BY: Advanced GeoEnvironmental.Inc
g APPROVED with Conditions (See Below)
ADEQUATE AND NECESSARY ELEMENTS OF THE WORKPLAN(H&S 252%.10,su1bd.(c)(3).):
Phase One: Install four pairs of off-site(south of the above-referenced property)cone-penetrometer
(CPT)borings, with each pair consists of one CPT boring for sounding and one CPT boring
for sampling(a total 8 CPT borings),plus one CPT boring(closest to boring B12)for
sampling only. AGE proposed advancing CPT sampling borings to a depth to 180 feet bsg
(below surface grade),the depth where the deepest groundwater samples were collected in
the previous investigation in June 2004.
Phase Two: Install three groups of well-clusters on site(a total of 10 wells)to confirm the presence of
the contamination in deep hydrogeologic units identified in the June 1994 investigation:
• MW-A cluster(3 wells) south of MW-2 at 75-85 feet bsg, 100-105 feet bsg,and
135-140 feet bsg.
• MW-B cluster(3 wells) south of MW-1 at 75-85 feet bsg, 100-105 feet bsg,and
135-140 feet bsg.
• MM-C cluster(4 wells)near CPT-3 at 75-85 feet bsg,100-105 feet bsg,135-
140 feet bsg,and 180-190 feet bsg.
Phase Three: Based on the results of the above-mentioned Phase One CPT investigation,if necessary,
install an additional set of 4 monitoring wells off-site:
• 1%,fW-D cluster south of Clay Street at 75-85 feet bsg,100-105 feet bsg,135-140
feet bsg,and 180-190 feet bsg.
COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS:
1. EHD has reviewed the additional information submitted by AGE via e-mail to this office(a copy
of the email is attached)on August 8,2005. The information clarified the exact screen depths of
the monitoring wells and depths of the CPT borings proposed in the work plan addendum.
2. Contingency to advance CPT boring(s)below 180 feet bsg to obtain groundwater samples based
on field data and observation. Although no repeatable monitoring points have been installed at
or below 180 feet bsg, contaminants were detected in previous grab groundwater samples
collected from 180 feet bsg. Vertical definition of the groundwater plume has not been defined.
I Implement proposed work by September 30,2005.
4. Schedule work with EHD at least 48 hours in advance.
REASONS FOR DISAPPROVAL OF THE WORKPLAN(H&S 25296.10 subd.(C)(3).):
None t , 1
DATED .August 10,2005 BY _ "e- w d
Cc: CRWQCB,Central Valley Region—James L.L.Barton,PG
Cc: .Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.—Bill Little,PG
