Excavate approximately 340 cubic yards of contaminated soil and 340 cubic yards of <br /> over-bearing soil. The excavated soil will be segregated into clean and contaminated <br /> stockpiles. Impacted stockpiles will be covered with plastic sheeting. <br /> 2. Groundwater will be pumped from the excavation. <br /> 3. Collect soil samples from the base and sidewalls of the excavation, and 4 composite <br /> points for every 100 cubic yards from the impacted stockpile for laboratory analyses. <br /> COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS: <br /> 1. Destroy and replace (after excavation) extraction well E W-1 under permit before <br /> implementing excavation. <br /> 2. The work plan proposed re-using the clean stockpile for backfilling the <br /> excavation using OVM, odor, and discoloration as guideline to determine if the <br /> stockpile is clean. This proposal is not approved. Demonstrate the stockpile to <br /> be clean by analyzing soil sample from the lab if you want to reuse the stockpile <br /> in addition to imported clean soil for backfilling the excavation. <br /> 3. Line impacted stockpiles with plastic to control potential leaching and run-off. <br /> 4. Implement the work plan by December 12, 2003. <br /> 5.
