Ozone Injection Pilot Study Work Plan
West Clay Properties
639 West Clay Street, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Ms. Tina Mayhew, of West Clay Properties, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
(AGE)has prepared this Ozone Injection Pilot Study Work Plan for the property located at 639 West
Clay Street(site),Stockton,California. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1. A site plan
is illustrated on Figure 2. A summary of background information is presented in Appendix A.
Interim remediation of hydrocarbon-impacted soil near the former underground storage tank(UST)
areas has been conducted at the site under the direction of the San Joaquin County Environmental
Health Department (EHD). These remediation events appear to have been generally successful,
however,the significant concentrations of dissolved hydrocarbons are still present at the location of
former extraction well EW-1 and MW-10, at the cluster UST area. The vertical extent of the
contamination plume is defined in the area of the northern UST location yet the vertical and lateral
extent of the dissolved contamination plume at the southern UST location is not well defined.There
are two separated release locations,thus remediation feasibility should begin at the defined northern
dissolved hydrocarbon and fuel additive (MTBE) plume at the cluster UST area. During active
remediation, the vertical limits of the dissolved contamination plume at the southern UST location
will be require additional assessment.
Included in AGE's previous quarterly reports were recommendations for implementation of the
defined northern dissolved hydrocarbon and MTBE plume remediation process for the cluster UST
area. AGE proposes an ozone injection well pilot study for the upper hydrogeologic units at the area
of the highest concentrations of dissolved hydrocarbons,near the former northern cluster UST area.
This work plan details the scope of work for ozone injection well installation,system installation and
system monitoring for up to six months.
This work plan is prepared in accordance with Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
(CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tanks (UST) sites.
2.0. SCOPE OF WORK
AGE is recommending the performance of an ozone injection well pilot study for the area near the
former northern UST area. The scope of work will consist of the following tasks:
• Permitting, planning and pre-field work activities;
• Drilling and installation of ozone injection wells;
• Performance of an 24-week ozone sparge pilot test, including monthly monitoring; and
Advanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc.
