. r,►
04 January 2005
AGE-NC Project No. 96-0235
The proposed ozone injection wells will be screened through the water table and ground water, into
areas of known petroleum-impacted ground water. Proposed well locations are depicted in Figure 2.
2.3. IN-SITU OZONE SPARGING PILOT TEST
Following installation of ozone injection wells, a 24-week (6 months) in-situ ozone sparge (IOS)
pilot study is proposed at the site; the results of the IOS pilot test will provide data to calculate an
effective radius of influence and determine the feasibility of IOS as a remediation alternative.
Procedures for the IOS pilot test are presented in Section 3.3.
2.4. REPORT PREPARATION
Upon completion of well installation and the 24-week IOS pilot study, a report will be prepared
presenting the findings of the investigation. The report will include a description of the work
performed, the results of soil and grab ground water analysis, and the results of the IOS pilot study.
Conclusions, applicable recommendations, maps and cross-sections will be included in the report.
The report will be in a format acceptable to the SJEHD and the CVRWQCB, and will be reviewed
and signed by a California Registered Geologist.
3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Registered Geologist. Procedures for well installations, well development and ozone sparging are
described below.
3.1. DRILLING AND SAMPLING
A total of ten Ozone injection sparge wells will be installed to a depth of 35 feet bsg utilizing a
truck-mounted, hollow-stem drill rig and 8-inch diameter hollow-stem augers. Soil cuttings and
rinseate generated during drilling activities will be containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved
55-gallon drums, and stored on-site in an area lacking public access. Disposal alternatives for
rinseate and stockpiled soil will be selected based on results of a laboratory analysis.
Soil samples will be collected at five-foot intervals for logging purposes, beginning at a depth of
5 feet bsg. Selected soil samples may be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for the following
constituents:
Advanced GeoEnvironmental.Inc.
