INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Ms Tina Mayhew of West Clay Properties, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc <br />' (AGE) has prepared this ground water extraction test report for 639 West Clay Street, Stockton, <br /> California The site setting is illustrated on Figure 1 Site structures and monitoring well locations <br />' are depicted on Figure 2 This report has been prepared in accordance with guidelines established <br /> by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board-Central Valley Division for investigation <br /> of underground storage tank(UST) sites. <br />' The objective of the test was to obtain general ground water aquifer characteristics and to evaluate <br /> aquifer response to ground water extraction at variable pumping rates <br /> 2.0. GROUND WATER EXTRACTION FEASIBILITY TESTS <br />' -h step draw-down ground water extraction was performed at the site on 19 Jul 2001 to <br /> An 8 aur p gr P Y <br /> liedetermine the feasibility of ground water extraction as a remediation alternative for the site Ground <br /> water extraction well EW-2 was utilized as the extraction well and wells MW-1, MW-3, MW-5, <br /> MW-7 and AS-1 were utilized as observation points All of the`MW'-designated wells have 20-foot <br /> screen intervals,the `AS'-designated well has a 5-foot screen interval Wells MW-5 and MW-7 and <br />' were screened in the shallow water zone at between 10 and 35 feet bsg,wells MW-1,MW-2,MW-3 <br /> and AS-1 are screened in the deep water zone at between 35 and 60 feet bsg Table 1 summarizes <br /> well construction specifications <br /> Purged ground water generated during the 8-hour step draw-down test was containerized in an on- <br /> site 4,000-gallon poly tank <br />' 21 8-HOUR STEP DRAW-DOWN PUMPIlVG TEST <br /> Prior to initiation o`f the test,-the depth-tb-ground water was measured in extraction well EW-2 and - - <br />' the observation wells using a Solinst water level meter, during the pumping test,depth to water was <br /> measured in the wells at approximately 30-mmute intervals Copies of field logs are included in <br /> Appendix A ' <br /> I ` <br /> The pumping test consisted of extracting ground water from well EW-2 utilizing a 4-inch diameter <br />' submersible Grundfos Redi-flo pump Pumping began at four gallons per minute(gpm),the pumping <br /> rate was increased to five gpm after 140 minutes, and increased to six gpm after 285 minutes The <br /> pumping test was prematurely terminated at 465 minutes when an employee inadvertently <br /> Advanced GeoEnvtronnnental,for- <br />
