Article 5 of
California Code of Regulations, Title 23, Division 3, Chapter 15 (Chapter 15)
discusses water quality monitoring for waste management units. Since you propose
to operate a Class II land treatment waste management unit, you are required to
comply with Chapter 15 monitoring requirements.
We suggest that you review Article 5 of Chapter 15, particularly Sections 2552
(Water Quality Protection Standards) , 2555 (General Ground Water Monitoring
Requirements) , 2556 (Detection Monitoring Program, and 2559 (Unsaturated Zone
Monitoring Program) . After you have reviewed Chapter 15, we request that you
submit a Technical Report that meets the requirements for Ground Water and
Unsaturated Zone Monitoring. The Technical Report should be submitted to our
office by 14 March 1991.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (916) 361-5737.
ROBERT A.
