i KLE/NFELOER
 6.yt haple.N9ISa.:ri
2 SOIL AND GROUNDWATER ASSESSMENT
Kleinfelder understands the soil and groundwater assessment must comply with the
RWQCB guidelines and address a description of the geology and hydrogeology of the
area, groundwater quality at the site, and assess the potential for the proposed
discharge to degrade groundwater quality.
The proposed scope of services is as follows:
2.1 PRE-FIELD AND PERMITTING ACTIVITIES
Prior to field mobilization, Kleinfelder will obtain boring permits from San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) and prepare a site-specific health
and safety plan. Upon receipt of the boring permits (typically a two to three week
turnaround from SJCEHD), Kleinfelder will schedule the field work with the drilling
subcontractor and notify the City of Tracy.
As part of the pre-field activities, Kleinfelder will conduct a site visit to evaluate site
conditions and equipment access. The proposed groundwater sample locations will be
marked in white paint and/or staked. Kleinfelder will require the boring contractor to
contact Underground Service Alert 48 hours prior to conducting field work to notify local
utilities of the proposed subsurface assessment. Kleinfelder requests that the City of
Tracy provide available as-built information regarding the locations of onsite subsurface
utilities for its use in this activity as applicable.
Kleinfelder requests that the City of Tracy make arrangements to provide site access for
work during regular business hours to complete the proposed monitoring wells.
2.2 UNDOCUMENTED SOIL STOCKPILE ASSESSMENT
Soil Stockpiles
Kleinfelder estimates that approximately 9,500 cubic yards of soil are present on the site
(Plate 3). This estimate was calculated by first reviewing aerial photos of the waste
piles present across the parcel, and counting approximately 1,056 piles.
