Recommendations • However, since it won't be used on this property,it is recommended that this soil be removed. ' Follow-up • A portion of this stockpile ofsoil remains on this property. This soil does not pose an environmental ' threat, but will be in the way for future development. Reportedly it will be addressed in a timely manner. 7. Former Underground Fuel Storage Tank: ' Observations ' • R&B Trucking used to operate a diesel fueling island served by six underground storage tanks located on the southwest portion of the Property. These tanks were removed in March 1989 and a small amount of soil contamination was found. ' • An underground waste oil tank was also removed at that time. It was located behind (west of) the shop. One of the soil samples under this tank contained trace amounts of diesel. No other petroleum compound was found. ' • The excavation for the diesel tanks was enlarged so that the contaminated soil could be removed. In late 1989 and early 1990, Geological Technics Inc. installed 3 monitoring wells and tested ' the soil and groundwater around the former tanks. • The soil under tank #5 was found to contain moderate amounts of diesel, while the soil under tanks 1,3,4&5 was found to contain trace amounts of BTEX compounds. ' • The groundwater samples from the three monitoring wells were found to be clean and not contaminated with any of the compounds tested for. ' • This site was closed by San Joaquin County and no further action was required in June 1990 after the contaminated soil was removed. Conclusions • There is no evidence that these former USTs pose a threat of environmental liability to this ' Property. Recommendations ' • No further action is recommended.
