Also included in the investigation was
the evaluation of analytical data from the tank closure soil samples and the testing of re-
excavated bottom hole material.
2.0 SITE HISTORY
The site is located at 1785 Corral Hollow Road in northwest Tracy,California. R & B Trucking
Company has operated on this property for many years. Except for the office parking area, the
ground is unpaved. A few buildings used for shops and storage sheds occur on the back portion of
the land. The eastern portion of the property is occupied by a house and an office building.
Seven underground fuel tanks serving the R&B Trucking Company were removed from the
western portion of this property.
Mr. Robert Barenchi is in the process of selling this property to real estate developers. Included
in this process was the removal of several underground storage tanks. On 17 March 1989,Mr.
Barenchi hired a contractor to excavate these tanks. Harlin Knoll and Darlene Reuss of the
— San Joaquin Local Health District were on site to direct the tank removal and soil sampling
activities. Precision Analytical Laboratories, Inc. collected and analyzed fourteen soil samples
for total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel.
The analytical data showed two areas with only minor levels of contamination, and one area
with fairly high levels. This data is shown in Table 1. Samples were collected at depths
between 11 to 14 feet and 2 to 3 feet below the bottom of the tanks.
