In preparing the property for sale, several <br /> underground storage tanks were removed,and in accordance with state and county <br /> regulations,soil samples were collected and analyzed for the corresponding analytes of <br /> the previously stored product. <br /> In the course of this study,it was found that some release had occurred in relation to 3 of <br /> the 7 tanks. Subsequently,the Tracy Planning Commission requested that soil <br /> contamination be assessed in accordance with California and San Joaquin County <br /> guidelines. At this point Mr.Ben Y.Curran of Curran Real Estate contacted Geological <br /> _ <br /> Technics to assist in this project. <br /> 1.2 Objectives <br /> _ <br /> The purpose of this preliminary site assessment is to define the vertical extent of soil <br /> contamination below the location of the former underground tank cluster to determine if <br /> _ the shallow ground water has been impacted by this petroleum release. After <br /> installing one soil boring,it will be converted into a monitoring well and tested for <br /> extractable petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel. <br /> Furthermore,a general first level assessment of the property is proposed. This <br /> assessment is aimed at identifying other contaminants if they are present. <br /> 2.0 SITE BACKGROUND AND SETTING <br /> The following sections discuss the general physical setting of the property, the history of the <br /> _ <br /> site,and the condition of the site as known at this time. <br /> _ <br />
