CHOW ENGINEERING, INC. • • 7 May 2001 Site Specific Safety Plan Solid Waste Management Unit (SWMU) 21 and Area of Concern 4 32727South Corral Hollow Road Tracy, California 7 May 2001 General Dynamics (GD), formerly Primex, Inc. has retained Chow Engineering, Inc. to provide soil (sediment) sampling, analytical services and sediment excavation and backfilling services at the GD facility at 32727 Corral Hollow Road southwest of Tracy, California (site). The following sections of the Site Specific Safety Plan (SP) address issues pertinent to the safe completion of the work at the site. 1.0 Discussion Statement of Company Policy CE is dedicated to the protection of its employees from on-the-job injuries. All employees and subcontractors have a responsibility to work safely on the job. The purpose of this plan is to ensure that CE and subcontractor employees on the GD's project at the site recognize all hazards and their associated precautionary measures. This document is supported by and references CE Standards of Practice (SOP) specific to the work being performed as described in the following Work Summary. CE SOP #001 General Provisions — Health & Safety Plans CE SOP #002 Safe Work Practices CE SOP #003 Tailgate Safety Meeting Forms This summary document is intended to be utilized in conjunction with the previously mentioned SOP's that provide specific guidance and procedures relative to each topic and consideration presented. All personnel engaged in the physical operations aspects of the work who may be at risk for exposure to hazardous and/or regulated wastes or materials, in addition to all visitors, observers and regulatory inspectors who require admission into controlled areas on the project site, will be trained and certified under the applicable regulations of 29 CFR 1910.120, CCR Title 8, State and/or local requirements.
