Stockton 99 Speedway <br /> P Y , <br /> I� Quality Assurance Project Plan APril 12 2007 <br /> E <br /> 6.0 DATA COLLECTION AND ACQUISITION <br /> A description of the sampling scope, including types and numbers of samples required, locations of <br /> samples, rationale for design, and sampling methods is detailed in the PEA Workplan.. This section <br /> presents the activities associated with data generation and acquisition to ensure that appropriate <br /> kmethods for sampling, measurement and analysis, and QC activities are employed throughout the <br /> project. <br /> 5.1 Sample Handling and Documentation <br /> The types of samples to be collected under the PEA include soil. Detailed descriptions of the sampling <br /> procedures for each of these media are presented in the PEA Workplan. <br /> 5.1.1 Sample Containers <br /> All containers used to hold collected samples will be new containers supplied by the laboratory or an <br /> environmental equipment supply company. Appropriate preservative will be placed in the container by <br /> the laboratory to prevent sample degradation. A list of sample containers and required preservatives for <br /> the various analysis and media types are provided on Table 1. Appropriate measures shall be made to <br /> ensure that the samples are stored at the appropriate temperature while they held.at the site, during <br /> transport to the laboratory, and during storage at the laboratory. <br /> I 5.1.2 Sample Labeling <br /> Each sample taken will be labeled appropriately prior to submittal to the laboratory. All samples subject. <br /> to analysis will require a sample ID that indicates where the sample was.taken, and the matrix associated <br /> with the sample (i.e. soil). The sample ID will consist of an alphanumeric combination as described in the <br /> PEA Workplan. The sample label will include the following information: <br /> • Sample identification; <br /> • Sampling date; <br /> • Name of the person who collected the sample; <br /> The type of analysis to be performed on the sample; <br /> Site name; and <br /> • Type of preservative. <br /> E <br /> Quality_Assurence_Prffect_Plan.Finaf-doc 5-1 - The Source Group,Inc. <br />
