4 2 STATE RECORDS SEARCH
The state report was prepared from records maintained by the California Integrated Waste
Management Board (IWMB), California Water Resources Control Board (WRCB),
California Office of Planning and Research, and California Department of Health Services
(DHS) Records pertaining to the following categories of site were reviewed
o Solid Waste Information System (SWIS)
o Leaking Underground Storage Tanks (LUST)
o Hazardous Waste and Substance Sites (Cortese)
o Bond Expenditure Plan (BEP)
o CAL-SITES
o Waste Discharge Systems (WDS)
o Underground Storage Tanks (UST)
The Solid Waste Information System (SWIS) list includes an inventory of active, inactive,
and closed solid waste disposal and transfer facilities The inventory is maintained by
the IWMB pursuant to the Solid Waste Management and Resource Recovery Act of 1972
Review of the March 1993 SWIS list indicates that there are no SWIS sites within the study
area
The WRCB maintains a list of sites at which leaking underground storage tanks (LUSTS)
have been reported The records reviewed were current as of July 1994 and indicate two
LUST sites within the study area According to the records, ground water has been
impacted by releases at one of these LUST sites: the BP station (formerly Mobil) at
1403 Country Club Boulevard. The substance released was reportedly gasoline This station
is located directly across Pershing Avenue from the subject property Because of its
proximity to the subject site, records pertaining to the BP site were reviewed at the County
offices A summary of the findings of this review is presented in Section 4.3 The other site
identified in the LUST records is Michelotti's Auto Repair The substance released was
reportedly benzene, and only soil has been affected
I 4-3
GEM- GySTEI4
IConsultants, Inc
